Lac dye is a red colorant naturally contained in sticklac, the lac bug secretion at the origin of all shellac products. It is extracted during the manufacturing of seedlac. Its high purity and natural origin allow its use in several applications.
Lac dye is one of the natural dyes with the longest history. It is a mixture of several types of laccaic acid.
